Abbigail Purser Woodall Obituary (1927 - 2010)

ABBIGAIL PURSER WOODALL ROY - Abbigail "Gail" Purser Woodall, loving matriarch of our family, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. She was born June 27, 1927 in Hyde Park, Utah, a daughter of Lyman Albert and Abbie Hyde Purser. She spent her years growing up in Preston, Idaho. On September 25, 1946, Gail married the love of her life, H. Dean Woodall in the Salt Lake Temple. Their marriage was performed by Apostle Matthew Cowley. After their marriage they moved to Burley Idaho, and in 1961, they moved to Roy, Utah. Dean passed away on November 4, 2006. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Roy 3rd Ward, where she served in numerous callings in the Relief Society and Primary and was a diligent visiting teacher. Her faithful, unending service to family, ward members, and others will also be remembered. Gail worked at Hill Field for several years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Some of her many talents include making quilts and afghans for her grandchildren. Gail was a wonderful cook, she always had hot homemade bread and goodies when friends and family came to visit. She valued the time spent with her immediate and extended family. Some of their favorite adventures together were going fishing and to Disneyland. She is survived by her children; Louis (Linda) Woodall, Layton, Randy (Pam) Woodall, Roy, Jo Ann (Nalyn) Olney, Providence, Susan (Norm) Swallow, Kaysville, and Jane (Jon) Ritchie, Roy, 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, with four on the way. She is also survived by her brothers; Gordon (Dot) Purser, Sterling Purser, and sisters; Josie Mae Purser, and Joann (Dave) Ezola. Gail was preceded in death by her husband Dean, her parents, and six siblings; Ruth, Hyde, John, Arland, Eugene, Darlene. Special thanks to Vista Care Hospice especially Marilyn Schiffman. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., in the Roy 3rd Ward, 5930 South 2200 West, Roy, Utah. Friends and family may call on Sunday, February 14, 2010, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, and on Monday from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church.
