Abigail Caitlin Hadley

OGDEN - Our beautiful girl, Abigail Caitlin Hadley was born on June 2, 1995 to Christopher Hadley and Catina Martinez-Hadley in Ogden, Utah. Abigail passed away tragically on the morning of March 2, 2009. In her short time here on earth, she was able to accomplish much more than most of us do in an entire lifetime. Abigail learned how to read when she was four and devoured books with the most voracious appetitive until she left this life. Abigail was a brilliant and accomplished writer and had completed two novels and many reams of poetry at the young age of thirteen. She loved music, especially My Chemical Romance and was teaching herself to play the guitar. Abigail wanted to grow up to be a writer and to attend university in Tokyo. Abigail liked hiking in the foothills, camping, baking cookies, snowboarding and ice cream cones from Farr's.

She was a student at Polk Elementary from Kindergarten through 2nd grade and an honor roll student at Ogden Preparatory Academy from 3rd through 8th grades. Abigail loved her friends. She grew up with three very special friends, Clarissa, Rayla and Tasha.

Abigail is survived by her parents, Christopher and Catina Martinez-Hadley, her brother, Antonio and sister, Maia, who both adored her. She is also survived by her grandparents Barry and Marlene Hadley, Nancy and Dan Loewen and Vicky Martinez and great-grandfather Edward Hadley.

Abigail was preceded in death by her great-grandmothers Julia Martinez, Betty Hadley and Alice Jensen.

She will be missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins in both the Hadley and Martinez families.

My darling Abbey, you were our first and our hearts are so broken. We are going to cherish the short time we had together and have faith that your peace will eventually help us to find our own. Please smile down at us from heaven and know that we love you always. You had the most beautiful smile.

We would like to thank our families, the OPA community, Mark Ramsey and all the wonderful neighbors and friends who have helped us through the impossible.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, March 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday prior to the service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
