Alan Vern Wood

June 19th, 1937 - May 17, 2017 Alan Vern Wood of Ogden, Utah, passed away on May 17, 2017 peacefully at home with his family by his side.

Alan was a loving husband, father and grandfather who returned to his Heavenly Father at the age of 79.

Alan graduated from Ben Lomond High School and then he served 4 years for our country in the US Army. He worked at the Defense Depot of Ogden for over 30 years. After which he worked for 5 years as a bus aide and driver for the Deaf and Blind School of Ogden. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Alan loved riding his mountain bike, golfing, snow skiing and being outdoors.

Preceded in his death by his parents, Vern and Mable Wood and his sister, Carol Allen.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Aleta Marion; Son, Preston Wood (Shantel); three daughters; Gina Stevens (Brandon), Julie Kirkland (Steve) and Sharon Lamb (Tyrone) and 8 granddaughters.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 2 to 4 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 22nd at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. at 11a.m.
