Alice Ann Mcmurrin Urry Obituary (1949 - 2017)

Alice Ann (McMurrin) Urry, August 9th, 1949 - January 1st, 2017 Click here to listen to the funeral recording. Alice passed away peacefully at home on January 1st, 2017 surrounded by loved ones after years of physical hardship. She was a beautiful, loving, talented woman, who never realized how special she was. She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio while her father was in medical residency. She Moved to Ogden when she was a year old. She attended Ogden City schools and met her loving husband, Bob, her senior year at Ogden High, where they graduated in 1967. Bob and Alice were married in 1970 and were later sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 1972 and they enjoyed 47 years together. Alice graduated from Utah State University in 1970 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught 1st and 2nd grade for 30 years for Weber school district and retired in 2008. She always loved children, and loved being a grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Bob; her son, Matt; sister, Sparky (Tom) Humphrey; 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, James A McMurrin and Patricia Emmett McMurrin; sister, Marcia Bryne Bowles; brothers, John Emmett McMurrin, and James Allen McMurrin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the West Weber 2nd Ward, 4100 W and 900 S, West Weber. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the church and prior to services from 9:45-10:45 am at the church.
