Allen Ermer

–

Roy, Utah

Allen Leonard Ermer returned home to his Father in Heaven in the early morning hours of Monday, June 19, 2023, at the age of 76. Allen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and had the ability to make everyone feel like they were his favorite! We will forever miss his endless love that he gave so freely to all who knew him.
He was born on December 5, 1946, in Cleveland Cuyahoga, Ohio, to Alvin E., and Catherine A. (Bowman) Ermer, the first-born grandson on both sides and was cherished by his grandparents. He grew up in Ashtabula and Geneva, Ohio, and served in Scotland for the United States Navy. Allen loved his God, family, and country, and taught his children that love of country having four of his five children also serve in the military. Allen also lived in California and spent the last 42 years in Roy, Utah.
Allen married Rosa Palomo on June 14, 1968, and they were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple one year after he joined the LDS church. They were able to celebrate 55 years of marriage together just days before his passing. Together they raised five children - David Ermer (Elise), Stacey Muir (Jared), Carrie Preece, Jason Ermer, and Joseph Ermer.
He was an electronic engineer and worked on the circuit boards for the F-16s at Hill AFB and retired in 2011 after 30 years of dedicated service.
Allen is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rose and Gustave Ermer, parents, Alvin and Catherine Ermer, and his son, Jason Ermer, who we know he is rejoicing to be reunited with.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa, his sons, and daughters, sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
His legacy of kindness, patience, and love will live on through all those who knew and loved him. We love you, Dad. Our lives are forever better for having you as our father.
