Allen Junior Rogers

CLEARFIELD - Allen J. Rogers, 73, Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden.

He was born October 24, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of his birth parents Stanley and Carrie Haddox Rogers and his adopted parents Stanley and Jane Davenport.

He married Rebecca Peterson on May 4, 1959 in West Point, Utah.

Allen served 24 years in the United States Air Force and was involved with Air Force Satellite Control Network at the Kennedy Space Station in Florida. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.

He was involved in the Special Olympics and was an avid bowler.

Survived by his wife Rebecca, children: Jean (Dennis) Homanick, Alice Rogers, Roben Rogers, Jay (Lorri) Rogers, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also survived by seven siblings, Hazel, Ellen, Ethel, Mary, Glenda Rose, Georganne, and Robert.

Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Art, Jimmy and Jesse Rogers, one sister, Ruth and one daughter, Bobi Rogers.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West. Roy. Friends and family may call from 12:00 noon to services.
