Alliene Zubek Obituary (1916 - 2001)

OGDEN - Alliene Brookey Zubek, 84, died on Thursday, June 21, 2001 at her residence of causes incident to age. She was born November 27, 1916 in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, a daughter of Henry and Rena L. Crites Brookey. In 1943 Alliene married Si Perkins. They had a son, David. Both preceded her in death. She married Walter Zubek on April 3, 1970 in Ogden, Utah. He died July 21, 1993. Alliene was a school teacher, teaching in Colorado, Wyoming and Coalville, Utah. After her retirement she volunteered her help at T.O. Smith Elementary School and also taught adults to read. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ogden, AAUW, and the Local Democratic Party. She loved teaching, and loved to read. She enjoyed reading to people in nursing homes. She enjoyed traveling. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her brother Carl F. Brookey, Rosco, IL; sister Mildred Brookey, Ogden; nieces and nephews, Mike and Charlene Brookey, Harlan and Katherine Akers, Richard and Pat Doyle, Timothy and Shirley Brookey; and great nieces and nephews.
