Almeda Belle Barnum Obituary (1932 - 2003)

Almeda Belle Scott Barnum OGDEN - Almeda Belle Scott Barnum passed away on November 17, 2003 after a long illness. Almeda was born to Orson and Margaret Scott on December 5, 1932 in DeNoya, Oklahoma. She graduated from Wild Horse High School as Valedictorian in 1950 and married Norman Barnum November 24, 1950. Norman and Almeda raised their five children in Tulsa, Oklahoma and moved to Dallas, Texas and then Denver, Colorado. They retired to Ogden, Utah in 1985. Nieces and nephews knew her as Aunt Sweet Pea and adored her. She loved you unconditionally and welcomed you in her home as if you were her own. She loved to sew and read and watch the storms and sunsets. She loved the primary children and the primary songs. Her happiest times were watching the little ones in whatever they did. She was active in her church and served in Relief Society and Primary and Sunday School. Almeda is survived by her husband, Norman Barnum and her five children, Margo Hawker of Ogden; Robin and Susan Barnum of Kaysville; Dudley and Terry Barnum of Arizona; Christy and Michael Knox of Ogden; and Steven and Pam Barnum of Colorado. She has 15 grandchildren with one on the way, and eight great grandchildren with two on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orson and Margaret Scott; and three sisters, Melba Dunn, Mildred Wall and Virginia Dunn who have greeted her in a great celebration.
