Alvin Taylor Dake

CLEARFIELD - Alvin T. Drake, 89, died peacefully at his home, Thursday, October 18, 2007, with his wife by his side. He was born January 29, 1918, in Heyburn, Idaho to Mary Edith Hill and Lewis Wells Drake.

He was raised in Burley, Idaho, and graduated from high school there. Upon successfully completing an LDS mission, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Douglas, Arizona, where he met his sweetheart Velma Kerby. They were married April 23, 1943, in the Mesa, Arizona Temple.

Alvin loved working on airplanes, and building models. Their four children were raised in Kaysville, Utah. For the past 21 years, they have resided in Clearfield, surrounded by wonderful neighbors, and supportive Clearfield 22nd Ward members.

Alvin is survived by his wife Velma, and children; Sherrie Martin, Paonia Colorado; Darlene (Ben) Frint, Basin Wyoming; Doug (Kathy) Drake, St. George, Utah, Kenley (Lori) Drake, South Weber, Utah, and Carolyn Hatley, daughter-in-law, Sunset, Utah. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, J. Raman Drake, Bisbee, Arizona, Lynn W. (Vesta) Drake, Wendell, Idaho, and sisters Ortell Wilson, Lompoc, California and Raeola (Cal) Crane, Burley Idaho, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2007, at 1:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy. Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Sunday, October 21, 2007, from 6 - 8:00 p.m., and Monday from 11:45 - 12:45 p.m., prior to the services. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 North Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
