Amie Anne Rands Obituary (1965 - 2012)

Amie Anne Rands (Smith), 46, of Layton Utah, died Wednesday March 7th, 2012. She was born to Kenneth and Patricia Smith, Dec. 29, 1965, in Nassawadox, Virginia. Amie graduated from Soda Springs High School in 1985 and attended Salt Lake City Community College. She married Jim Rands in 2006 and they lived in Layton, Utah. Amie studied ice-skating for several years and competed in many regional and national competitions, and enjoyed watching this sport throughout her life. She enjoyed writing poems and had a fondness for several Shakespeare sonnets. Amie worked for several years at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City, and was known for her fun personality. Amie was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is survived by five children: Bryant Sterling Smith, Brenden McKay Beery, Abigal Anne Beery, Nathan Jordan Beery, and Ashlynne Rands. Amie is survived by her parents Kenneth C. And Patricia Lynne Tipton Smith of Soda Springs, Idaho. Also survived by three siblings: Tony (Michele) Smith of Centerville, Susan (Kenny) Jumonville of Syracuse and Paul (Michele) Smith of Bountiful. She is also survived by her Grandmother Pauline Smith of Soda Springs, Idaho. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made out to American Heart Association. A viewing will be held from 9:40-10:40a.m .on Tuesday March 13th at the Fiddlers Creek Ward Chapel, 380 S. Fairfield Road, Layton, UT. Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Soda Springs, Idaho.
