Amparo Robles Mejia

–

Ogden, Utah

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Amparo Robles Mejia, our resilient and loving mom/grandma and great-grandma who left us on the 9th of December 2025. She faced many medical challenges throughout her life, including a courageous battle with breast cancer and kidney failure since 2018 but was a fighter until her last moments. Even in her hardest moments, she showed incredible resilience, hope and faith. We would like thank all of the healthcare workers at the DaVita Dialysis Center who cared for her throughout the years. We find comfort knowing she passed away in the familiar warmth of her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on the 2nd of November 1944, in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico and moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1971 where she met and married the father of her children Alfonso Mejia until his passing in 1981. She moved to Ogden, UT in 1988 .Amparo's journey of life was a testament to her dedication and love for her family, her work, and all those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.

Amparo was a woman of immense strength and humor, who delighted in the simple pleasures of life. Her hobbies were many, but her favorites were taking care of her parakeets and plants, listening to music (favorites were Norteñas), dancing, watching luchas/WWE, and old black/white movies. She also enjoyed playing pool, dominoes, loteria, grilling, and gardening. A dedicated worker, Amparo retired from La Quinta Inn in Layton, UT, in the late 90's where she had served as a housekeeper in the hospitality industry.

Amparo was a Catholic, and her faith was a beacon that guided her through life. As we remember her, we are reminded of the verse from Lamentations 3:22-23: "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

Amparo is survived by her siblings Javier Robles Gallo (Rosita, Coahuila), Santa Robles de Castillo (Monterrey, Nuevo Leon), and Juan Jose Robles Gallo (San Antonio, Texas). Children: Susan, Albert (Lulu), Evangelina, and Sonia Mejia (Ogden, UT). Grandchildren Gerardo (Yaharye), Karina, Betito, Jasmine, Amelia, Nayelli, Dominique, Natasha, Jazmin, Danielle and Giselle. Great-grandchildren Hezekiah, Zemirah, Jedediah, Emma, Macie, Douglas, Alexander, and Adrian, and by many nieces, nephews, and friends who knew and loved her. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much, as they brought joy to her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Santos Robles Rodriguez, Belem Gallo de Robles, and brother Jaime Robles Gallo.

Amparo's viewing will take place on Tuesday, the 16th of December 2025, at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden, Utah, starting at 10:00 AM MST.
