Andrew "Buck" Kimose, the man, the myth, the legend, rode off into the sunset for the last time in his wood shop, doing what he loved on January 6, 2024. Born on August 8, 1951, in Ogden, UT, Buck was a man larger than life itself. As a talented truck driver for Tramcor Inc., Buck's reputation was solid as concrete. He held the Perfect Truck Driver Award for 16 years and received the 1 million mile award not once, but twice. All this while not spilling a single drop of coffee - a skill worthy of the Army Marksman's Award he received during his younger years.
Buck was known for his charismatic nature and his tall tales. His love for woodworking was only surpassed by his love for camping, horses, and his world-famous friends. He would often be found around a campfire, sharing funny anecdotes, and making everyone around him feel loved. A lover of the great outdoors, he was as sturdy as the trees he carved and as free as the horses he rode.
Buck was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His faith was evident in all facets of his life. As stated in Proverbs 17:22, "A cheerful heart is good medicine," Buck prescribed laughter and love to all who knew him. His heart was as big as the Utah Mountains and filled with love for his family and friends who were the center of his universe.
Buck is survived by his sons, Andy and Mitch, his daughter Kelli (Kevin) Littlefair and his proud mother Betty Kimose, his siblings Jim (Judy) Kimose, Kathy Kimose and Shelley (Phil) Nelson, and his precious grandchildren Isabella (Braden) and Jacob (Taylor) Griffiths. Buck was preceded in death by his father, James A. Kimose.
Buck's family and friends will gather for a celebration of his life viewing on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 5-8 pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden, Utah.
Buck's journey may have reached its last mile, but his stories and laughter echo in the hearts of those he leaves behind. So, here's to Buck - may his coffee always be hot, his stories always funny, and his memory forever etched in our hearts. Please join us in honoring Buck's life by sharing your memories on his memorial page at www.myers-motuary.com. Here's to you, Buck, until we meet again on that great highway in the sky.
