Sunset, UT
Andrew Torres passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 2021 at the age of 30. He was born December 3, 1990 at precisely 1457 hours, at Fort Bragg N.C. into the loving arms of his parents, Eugene and Anna Torres. Andrew was a lifelong resident of Sunset, UT.
Schools he attended included Freemont Elementary, Sunset Jr. High, and Northridge High School. He went on to receive his cell phone tower certification and electrical certification.
Over the years Andrew had many jobs, including working side by side with his dad as a roofer. He was also employed by C M Steel and was employed by various cellphone tower companies, and was an electrician by trade. He especially enjoyed climbing cellphone towers throughout the Western United States, with his lifelong friends, Mike and Chris Genovesi; whom he considered his brothers.
Andrew had many hobbies and talents. He enjoyed being outdoors and exploring all adventures waiting to be had; camping, fishing, riding ATV's, hiking, and snowboarding.
He always looked forward to the annual hunt with his dad, uncles, and cousins. His dad shared his love of the outdoors, with his children. Andrew quickly adopted the same affection for anything in nature.
Andrew was gifted in the area of martial arts. His passion for the sport began at the early age of 3 when he began competing in Hapkido. At the age of 18, he went on to compete and win the 1st place title in Jujitsu and was offered the opportunity to fight before talent scouts in Las Vegas to earn a professional UFC contract.
Andrew was well known for his compassionate spirit and was always looking out for the underdog, defending those that couldn't defend themselves. More often than not, he could be found coming to the aid of fellow classmates. Nobody was ever left out or "bullied" when Andrew was around.
His compassion didn't stop with people, he had such a special place in his heart for all animals; especially his Pit Bulls, Trinity and Dominic, whom he lovingly referred to as, "Mamas"and "Dom". He considered them his "babies".
If you were fortunate enough to have known Andrew, you know these words could never truly do him justice. He was one of the good guys and loved by so many. We have lost a bright spot in this sometimes, dark world. We are so thankful and blessed for the time we had with Andrew, although short, we look forward to the day we are reunited again in paradise. Until then son, we will always love you, now and forever...
