OGDEN - Anthony David Martinez, 53, died August 16, 2008 in Ogden. He was born October 9, 1954 in Ogden, Utah the son of Leroy and Jean Salazar Martinez. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School.

Tony served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1973 to 1979. He married Loretta Gallegos July 19, 1980 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Tony loved playing the guitar and singing. He enjoyed camping and fishing, painting and woodworking. He had a great sense of humor and loved his grandkids and hanging out with friends and family.

Tony is survived by his wife Loretta; mother Jean Martinez; children Anthony (Cristina) Martinez Jr., Amanda Jean Martinez, Mark A. Lopez, Jessica (Alejandro) Barrera, Yvette Martinez, Randy A. (Kali) Martinez and Nicolas Gomez "Cinco"; his brothers and sisters Linda (Paul ) Sanchez, Manuel (Tina) Martinez, Danny Martinez, Mikel Ray (Tyty) Martinez, Charles (Sandra) Martinez, Jerry (Ellie) Martinez, Peggy Martinez, Vickie Ruiz, Susan (Simon) Trujillo, Jolene Barros; 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Leroy Martinez; brother Kelly Martinez; mother and father-in-law and sister-in-law Carmen Martin.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 22, 2008 at 10:00 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 514 24th St. Friends and family may call on Thursday, August 21st from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, where a Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
