Antionette (Nettie) Claire Thomas passed peacefully in her sleep on April 6, 2023.
Nettie was born September 15, 1952 in Oakland California. She graduated from Granada High School, in Livermore, California. She did not know it at the time, but this is when she would meet and date the future love of her life John.
Nettie retired from Yolo County Work Force Services in West Sacramento City. Around this time John began looking for her. He reached out and the rest is history. They spent some time reconnecting and getting to know each other again. One trip they were on together before Nettie's mother passed away, John pulled her mother aside and asked for Nettie's hand in marriage. She was so touched. She happily and tearfully agreed. Shortly after on July 28, 2017 John and Nettie were married.
While they never had children together, she loved John's kids and grandkids like they were her own. Nettie was a beloved grandmother there was nothing that she would not do for her grandchildren whether it was a listening ear, or asking how their latest sport or life event went. She was always there for them. In Nettie's spare time she loved to garden, do yard work, and knit.
Nettie leaves behind the love of her life John Thomas. Her father-in-law Wes Thomas. Children John Thomas, Jason (Amanda) Thomas, Nathaniel (Cassie) Thomas. Grandchildren Krystina, Elijah, Emmylee (Gavin) Yarman, Karleigh, Cody, and Jada Thomas.
Nettie was the love of John's life, he asks that as her favorite color was purple to please join us in wearing casual dress and something purple in her honor on Wednesday April 12, 2023 from 12-1 pm at Myers Mortuary 5865 S. 1900 W.
