BRIGHAM CITY - Tony Manuel Gallegos, 90, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014.
He was born July 8, 1924 in Saguache, Colorado a son of Sylvia Anna Gallegos.
Tony married Beatrice Gomez, February 17, 1947 in Provo, UT, she passed away in 1958. He later married Kathryn Whitaker, June 23, 1961 in Ogden, UT, she passed away in 2003.
He was a member of the Army Air Corps serving in WWII as a tail-gunner on a B24 Bomber. He flew 50 missions and received the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Tony worked for the Brigham City Post Office for 40 years.
He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Tony was a wonderful father and grandfather.
Surviving are his children: Tony M. Gallegos, Jr., Aurora, Co; Sylvia Ann (Bill) Sweeney, Aurora, Co; William A. Gallegos, Andover, KS; Patrick T. (Melody) Gallegos, Salt Lake City, UT; Theodore C. (Debra) Gallegos, Salt Lake City, UT; David A. (Sharlee) Gallegos MD, Murray, UT; Sherrie L. (Robert) Janicki, Sandy, UT; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca, his brothers; Benjamin Gallegos and Joseph Gallegos, and two daughter-in-laws; Nancy Gallegos and Patti Gallegos.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, where friends may call from 9:30-10:40 a.m., 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, UT.
