Arch L. Petersen, 91, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005.
Arch was born at home in Brigham City, UT on June 4, 1914, a son of John N. and Laurena Hansen Petersen. He was educated in the Box Elder County Schools, graduating from Box Elder High School in 1932. Arch began working at the Perry Cannery, moving on to operating machinery at Merlin Woolen Mills, later Horsley Seed for 18 years.
Arch spent much of his life fishing small streams around Brigham and hunting waterfowl in the Great Salt Lake with his family and friends. His admirations of the outdoors lead to a career with the UDWR as a Game Warden. He volunteered many hours of service for wildlife and spent many cold winters feeding mule deer above Brigham and Perry.
He married his sweetheart Rose Vetsch in 1951. Many people admired their beautiful yard and he shared freely from his vegetable garden. He loved people and made friends everywhere he went and found great joy in his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Arch is survived by: Beth Lauritzen; sister, Three grandchildren, Lavonne (Curtis) Larsen, Paulette (Gary) Pearse, Carol Norman, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose; daughter, Dolores Jensen; granddaughter, Kathy Anderson; and the following brothers and sisters: Alice Tingey, Leonard Petersen, Leland Petersen, Francis J. Petersen, and Don Petersen.
A grave side service will be held in the Brigham City Cemetery at 12:00 PM on Monday, Nov. 21, 2005. All friends and family are invited. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Brigham City Senior Center.
