Arie Doolhoff Obituary (1924 - 2007)

Arie Doolhoff ROY - Arie Doolhoff, 83, left this life Wednesday, March 14, 2007. He was the son of Martina Margaretha Bogaards and Christoffel Doolhoff born in Rotterdam S. Netherlands. He came to this country at age 31 and became a citizen. He married Donna Reta Welch in August 1959. She passed away 29 years after in November 1988. He married Lucille M. Grossen Taylor in 1999. Arie loved good music and opera and at times would belt out some of it. He studied and enjoyed five different languages; he also enjoyed dancing and playing ping-pong. He raised champion German roller canaries and loved to train and hunt with his dogs. He also loved to fish. Arie is survived by his wife Lucille, and children Danny Doolhoff, (Yvonne Doolhoff), Diane (Brent) Pingree of Roy; James (Lisa) Taylor of Nibley and Joan M. Taylor Norman of Boulder City, NV; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Including his first wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, and several brothers and sisters in Holland. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Roy 9th Ward, 2175 West 4250 South. Friends and family may call on Friday at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
