Arnell Heber Staley Obituary (1916 - 2003)

Arnell Heber Staley LAYTON - Arnell Heber Staley died at home of cancer on October 8, 2003. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 3, 1916 in North Ogden, Utah, the son of Joseph Nathan Staley and Alice Florence Jackson. He grew up in North Ogden and graduated from Weber High School. He retired at age 55 after a civil service career of 33 years. After retirement he was involved in family and church building projects as a master woodworker. Arnell and Lucille Marie Smith were married in Coalville, Utah on August 3, 1937. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on March 2, 1951. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served as a ward clerk in Ogden for 25 years. He also served faithfully in many other church callings. Arnell and Marie served as missionaries in the Ogden Genealogy Research Center. He enjoyed working with his hands that served many people. He loved to improve his family's home, using his woodworking skills along with love and compassion. He loved to see his garden grow through his devotion. He helped his children and grandchildren grow with that same devotion. We love him for that. He is survived by three children; Elaine Staley, Diana Boren, Jerry (Linda) Staley, and Henry (Cindy) Langhaim, son-in-law; 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, daughters, Judy Staley and Sharon Langhaim; sisters, Leona Blodgett and Madeline Wade, and one great grandson, Justin Thompson.
