Arthur Florenzo Barela

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Arthur Florenzo Barela, passed away on September 30, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born on September 1, 1943 in Del Norte, Colorado to Manuel and Minnie Barela. He married Judy Randall on Nov 4, 1961. She later died on May 5, 1993.

He was a faithful member of the Catholic Church.
Arthur was a Jazz and Broncos fan. He enjoyed music, dancing, playing cards, going to the drive-inn and family BBQ's. He enjoyed keeping up with the news and current events. Arthur's main passion was his family. He loved watching his grandkids and attending their sporting events.

He is survived by his children, Kathy Martinez, Susan Sanchez, Rodney Barela, Stephanie Barela, Savanna Barela, and Angelic Radar, all of Ogden; stepdaughters, Kellie Catalano and Amy Fain; and numerous grandchildren and Great-grandchildren; siblings, Orlando (Ladean) Barela, Rebecca Herrera, Roger Barela, Janette (Dan) Archuleta and Jennie Barela; also a very special person, Judy Sears.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Wife, Judy; son, Arthur Barela Jr.; brother, Herman Barela; and grandsons, Richard Paul Martinez and Joseph Barela.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct 6, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 514-24th St., Ogden. A viewing will be held on Sunday, Oct 5th at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 8 p.m.

Interment will be at the Ogden City Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to any America First Credit Union in Arthur Barela's name to help offset funeral expenses.
