Arvard Robert Hoggan Obituary (1912

ARVARD R. HOGGAN Ogden - Arvard Robert Hoggan, 89 passed away July 9, 2001 incident to age. He was born March 5, 1912, in Ogden, a son of Robert Ellis and Katie Eliza Malan Hoggan. Raised in Ogden, he graduated from Ogden High School. He served in the LDS Southern States Mission from 1932 to 1934. On May 9, 1935, he and Vera Mae Scadden of Ogden were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away Sept. 21, 1985. He worked at E.C. Olsen Co. for 35 years. An active member of the LDS Church, he has held many positions over the years and was involved in genealogy and temple work. He is survived by his children, Marilyn Joyce Kirby, Clinton; Sue Lynette (Jack) Williams, West Haven; H. Grant Hoggan, Ely, Nevada; Roger D. (Karen) Hoggan, Rexburg, Idaho; Douglas Lynn (Victoria) Hoggan, North Ogden; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, Louis (Neta) Hoggan, Logan; Howard Hoggan, Santa Clara, UT: Marvin (Ruth) Hoggan, Ogden; Margie Hansen, South Ogden. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, wife and son Arvard Robert Jr., and one sister Ruth Robinson. The family would like to thank the Gardens Assisted Living for their special care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 13th at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy. Family and Friends may call Thursday from 6 - 8:00 P.M. and on Friday from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. Interment in the Ogden City Cemetery.
