Arvin Nessen Fackrell Obituary (1933 - 2018)

Arv, our husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born in Howell, Utah on May 1, 1933 to Israel Hoyt Fackrell and Mary Elma Nessen, the sixth of nine children. He grew up on the farm and attended school in the town's two-room schoolhouse. He was out with friends in the spring of 1950 when he met a cute girl from Brigham. He married Luana Burt on December 6, 1951 and they raised three children together. Arv, the owner of Arv's Trailer Repair in Ogden, was self-employed for well over 50 years. The business was a means of supporting his family, but much more importantly, it was his never-failing desire to help people that made him successful and he made a lot of friends because of it. Arv was always a teacher, offering guidance and life-long lessons to his kids, his grandkids, his employees and anyone else willing to learn. He knew a little bit about everything, and it seemed like there was no one he didn't know. There was plenty of opportunity for work with a business to run but spending time with his family was one of his greatest priorities. There was that trip to Montana with the kids loaded up in the back of his '55 International, camping trips on Grays River in Star Valley Wyoming, 4th of July hikes to McGuire's Mine, motorcycle rides in Kelton and Easter picnics at Little Mountain, on the hill behind his house or out in the pasture. Arv is survived by his wife Luana, children: Gary (Sherrie) Fackrell of West Haven, Debby (Joe) Macavinta of Corinne, and Marsha (Sasha) Fackrell of Ogden; grandchildren Codi, Andrea, Gary Scott, Jeremy, Justin, Brad, Julie, Amy, Joe and Chris; 22 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandsons, two brothers, Dean (Pam) Fackrell of St. George and Dave (Dalene) Fackrell of Midvale and a sister, Myrna Bunnell of Florida. He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Jenessa, his sisters, Gwen Munk, Dona Grover, Ruth Stokes, Marva Stokes and his brother Dale Fackrell. Funeral services will be Friday, February 2, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at the Willard Peak Chapel, 7615 South 655 West, Willard, UT. Viewings will be Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Church. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
