Arvin Dee Smith Obituary (1934 - 2014)

Arvin Dee Smith Arvin "Dee" Smith, husband, father, brother and uncle, passed away July 17, 2014. He was born Nov. 23, 1934 in Myton, Utah to Abraham Owen Smith Jr. and Almyra Collins Smith. He married Lillie May Miles in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 18, 1964. Dee worked at Jetway for 23 years. He enjoyed wood working with his hands and attending the Temple weekly. He also enjoyed taking rides with his son, Ray. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Lillie May Miles; daughter, Nila Mae; sons, Arvin Ray, Melvin Dee, Ted Lorin (Felicity) and close family friends, Scott McCulloch and Jodie Gray; his sisters, Margret Zinowiew, Janet Ellen Polito (Jim), Katherine Marie Nelson, Edna LaMarca Jensen ; brother, Michael Owen Smith (Kathy) and 1 granddaughter, Glenn. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lanell Jean; parents and 4 brothers-in-law. The family would like to thank IHC Hospice and the many nurses and doctors who have taken care of him over the last 35 years. Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the LDS River Parkway Ward, 1050 21st St. A viewing will be held on Friday, July 25th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. and Saturday at the church prior to the service from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd., where military honors will be accorded.
