Barbara Leona Nielsen Pont

Barbara Leona Nielsen Pont, 83, was reunited with her loved ones on the other side on December 5, 2017. Barbara was born on July 25, 1934 in Ogden, Utah to Orson Peter Nielsen and Ada Leona Wilkinson. She married Glen William Pont on February 23, 1953 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. They lived in Texas, California, Ohio, Louisiana, and Texas again. She died two days before the 18th anniversary of his death.

She is a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

She and Glen have three daughters, Kathye (Stan), Tamra (Gaylen) and Marilyn (Richard); eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Her family is the most important thing in her life.

She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and lived a life of service. No matter what she was asked to do, she accepted and fulfilled the calling to the best of her ability and, in the process, loved the people she served with all her heart. She loved the temple and was a temple worker in the Houston, Texas temple for many years. She loved to read and, in her youth, read every fiction book in the Evanston Wyoming library. They couldn't keep up with her.

She is survived by her sister Marilyn; her brother David; her daughters Kathye, Tami, and Marilyn; 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers Kenneth and Elvin; her husband Glen; her son-in-law Gaylen, and her great grandson Ben.
