Barbara Heissinger Schaffnit

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

On March 19, 2004 our dearest wife/mother/Nana/friend went home to the loving arms of God and Savior as a result of injuries she sustained on April 28, 2003 in a hiking accident.

Barbara was born on February 5, 1934 to Bill and Anna Karlovich in Galesburg, Illinois. She graduated from Taylorville High School.

Barbara married Jack Heissinger and together they had two children, Lora and Paul. They later divorced. In 1996 Barbara married Bill Schaffnit.

Barbara worked at First National Bank for many years. She resided in Springfield, Illinois all of her life before retiring and moving to Ogden, Utah in 1996. Barbara loved vacationing, camping, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Barbara was an active member of the Canyon Road Assembly of God Church. The love and joy of Barbara's life were her three grandchildren Austin, Alyssa and Kaylee.

Barbara is survived by her husband Bill of Pleasant View, UT; children, Lora (Fanu) Ulugalu; grandchildren Austin and Alyssa all of Ogden; son, Paul Heissinger; stepsons, Bob Schaffnit, Pleasant View, UT and Rick (Heather) Schaffnit; granddaughter Kaylee, West Jordan, UT. Preceding her in death were her parents, Bill and Anna Karlovich.
