Bar Dee Tidwell Campbell Obituary (1924 - 2017)

Bar Dee Campbell Our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Bar Dee Campbell, passed away peacefully, March 6, 2017. She was the daughter of Vernon N. and Celia Andersen Tidwell. Bar Dee and her younger brother Vernon grew up in the San Fernando Valley and enjoyed adventures with their parents traveling in the West as they set up and operated root beer stands. She graduated from North Hollywood High, worked for MGM Studios, attended Brigham Young University, and graduated from business school. She married Arthur Campbell in June of 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple and made North Ogden her home. She was employed by the US Forest Service, Weber County Attorney, and the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind. She belonged to several ladies' clubs, whose members became her lifelong friends. She loved traveling, hosting parties, chocolate, and being with friends and family. She was active in the LDS Church, and served in all of the auxiliaries, Guide Patrol being her favorite calling. Her children and grandchildren enjoyed special lunches, trips, outings, and events with her and each is convinced that he or she is her favorite. Surviving are her three favorite daughters Pam, (Vatau) Su'a; MaryLinda Wright, and Shanna Campbell, her 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, William and Marilyn Chambers and Ruth Berrett and two foster daughters from the Indian Placement Program, Carol Ann Marks and Valerie Nez. She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur, her parents and her brother Vernon (Betty) and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Fawn and Ray Rhees, Russel and Florence Campbell, Hugh and Jean Campbell, Joan and Lee Chambers, and Gaylen and Bonnie Campbell. Mom loved people and adventures. When we think of her we will always remember how she taught us kindness and that we never need a reason to help people. A viewing will be held Friday March 10, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North Ogden 1st Ward, 626 E. 2600 N., North Ogden and Saturday, March 11, 2017, from 12:15 to 1:15 at the church, with the funeral to follow at 1:30 pm. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Myers Ogden Mortuary.
