Beatrice Brussard Power
Beatrice (Bea) Power, a life-long resident of Ogden, Utah, passed away on April 13, 2001, in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 97. She leaves a great legacy of teaching and adhering to the highest ideals of humankind. She devoted her life to her family and her homemaking skills were extraordinary. She was an excellent cook, a marvelous seamstress and her flower gardens were amazing. If there are no flowers in heaven there soon will be, Mom will see to that. But most of all she taught, by precept and example, to always do the right thing and strive to do our best at whatever we choose to do. She was extremely good and kind with children. We will miss her and her steadying influence.
Bea was born February 5, 1904 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Frans Brussard and Dieuwertje "Maggie" Kranenburg Brussard and was the fourth of six children. She attended the public schools in Ogden and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. On March 22, 1922 she married Vivian Conlin "Biz" Power, also of Ogden. Bea and Biz are the parents of three sons.
She is survived by her three sons, Raymond V. (Shirely Campbell) Power, North Hollywood, CA; Robert C. (Darlene Thorpe) Power, Salt Lake City, UT; and Dean V. (Mary Kay Brian) Power, Sandy, UT. She is also survived by one sister, Flora Brussard Wilson of Seal Beach, CA; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers (William Brussard, Francis Brussard, Delmar Brussard), a sister (Martha Brussard Poulton), and one grandson (Robert D. Power).
