Bernie was born June 19, 1929 in Lehi, Utah to Betty Lou (Holbrook) and Wade Parrish Calloway. He grew up in Ibapah and graduated from Tooele High School. He lived most of his life in Ogden. He married Joanne Hughes September 22, 1950. He served in the Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Bernie was a member of the LDS church serving as Sunday School President, Counselor in the Bishopric and on the Stake High Council. He also served as Branch President at a care center for 10 years. He ran his own Phillip's 66 Station for 16 years and then retired from HAFB. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, and the outdoors. He loved people and enjoyed serving others. Bernie is survived by his two daughters, Diane Calloway - Graham (CJ Graham) and Rebecca Jo Jex (Rodney); grandchildren, Lexie, Parker, Tyler, Cameron, Brianna, Austin and Sanya; also his sister Betty Ruth Holbrook. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 57 years, Joanne; son, Jerry Bernell "Bernie" Calloway and his sister, Blanche Sinclair. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 22nd from 6 to 8 PM and Friday prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 AM.
