Beth Fisher Gunnell Obituary (1923 - 2008)

Beth Fisher Gunnell OGDEN - Our beloved Beth Fisher Gunnell, age 85, of Ogden died November 9, 2008. Beth was born May 11, 1923 at a farm home south of Rexburg, ID, the sixth of seven children. Her parents were Frederic Merle Fisher and Ann Lucinda Tolman. She married Merrill Parke Gunnell, Sept. 19, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. Beth lived in Rexburg, ID; Grace, ID; Provo, Roy and Ogden (since 1954). She worked at Nelson Ricks Creamery, Rexburg, ID; BYU Campus (Provo); Ogden LDS Temple. She also volunteered at Gramercy Elementary School, working with special needs children. She attended Cedar Point rural school; Madison High School (Rexburg); LDS Business School; BYU in Provo. She served a mission to Ontario, Canada from 1946 to 1947. Beth enjoyed reading, gardening and gathering family histories. As a member of the LDS Church, she served in the primary, Sunday School, Relief Society as secretary, pianist, teacher, counselor, and President. Beth was preceded in death by her husband; infant son, Merrill; parents and all her siblings. She is survived by sons Vaun (Margaret) of Kent, WA, Val (Jane) of Orem, UT and Mark (Susan) of Lake Havasu City, AZ; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother-and sisters-in-law, Reed (Bonnie) Gunnell of Chandler, AZ; Sarah Gunnell, Farmington, UT. We will miss her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Loren Farr Stake Center, 7th and Adams Avenue.
