Henefer, Utah

Betty Mae Adams (Knowlden), aged 91, of Henefer, Utah, passed peacefully on February 20, 2026. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on November 27, 1934, to Paul Knowlden and Mae Butcher, she Married Duane G. Adams on Nov. 2, 1951. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on July 9, 1953. Together they had four children: Duane Jr., Sherrie, Brian and Sharlene.

Betty lived a life filled with joy, creativity, and resilience. Her spirited nature and independence were evident to all who knew her. She was beloved in many circles; living in Ogden over 40 years and in Henefer for the past 25. She cherished many lasting friendships with her neighbors, coworkers and Pinochle gals.

Betty was a talented woman who channeled her creativity into hobbies such as cake decorating, crocheting, ceramics, sewing, and many other crafts. Her perseverance and resilience were evident in her professional life, where she retired after 35 years as a Computer Operations Manager for the Internal Revenue Service. She had been an active member of the DUP, FEW, and Toastmasters. In addition, she served in the Relief Society and Primary within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and as a 4H and Girl Scout leader for many years. Despite her many accomplishments and diverse interests, what mattered most to Betty was her family. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and wife, as well as a steadfast friend; always ready with a plate of cookies, a hug or a helping hand.

Betty is survived by two of her children, Brian (JoDee) Adams and Shar (Kirt) Mockli, son-in-law, Ron Labrum and daughter-in-law, Jan Adams; 15 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Karen (Bill) Woods and Dianne (Fred) Moore and Barbara Butcher as well as sisters-in-law Gayle Powell and LeAnne (Mike) McClellan and brother-in-law Leon Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Adams; two children, Sherrie Labrum and Duane Jr. as well as her parents. Also preceded in death by 2 grandsons and 2 great-grandsons, sisters Beverly Wilson and Pauli Smith, and brother Paul Knowlden Jr.
