Betty Lou Hall

BRIGHAM CITY - In the early morning of October 31, 2012, our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, Betty Lou Spence Hall passed away in her sleep while peaceful and relaxed. She was born on January 11, 1929 in Long Beach, CA, the daughter of Clarence H. and Gladys Richmond Spence. She had four brothers and one sister. She married Reese Hall on June 20, 1950 in the St. George Temple.
In February 1962 our family moved to Utah for Dad's employment at Thiokol Corporation. As a housewife, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and embroidering and in Utah she learned to quilt. Another skill she learned was canning fruits and vegetables, jams and jellies. Mother loved Relief Society and has always been a faithful visiting teacher. She has worked in all the organizations in the church and claimed that Cub Scouts was her favorite. She loved her Simada Study Group and had many great friendships from that group. She has been a proud member of the Oak Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She and Dad were temple workers in the Ogden Temple. She served a family history mission in Chicago, Illinois.
Reese passed away on September 23, 1990. She is preceded in death by all her siblings; Harvey, John, Jess, LaRue and Dean and survived by two sisters-in-law, Jane Spence and Marilyn Vidmar. She is survived by four children; Linda Chipley of Brigham City, Alan Hall of Clearfield, John Aaron Hall of Brigham City and Anna (Burnett) Hopkins of Tremonton. She has 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and another great grandchild due in March.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City South Stake Center, 865 S. 300 W., Brigham City.
A viewing will be Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and on Monday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
As a family we are so thankful to the many people who helped her in so many ways. Special thanks to Integrity Home Health that has helped her for many years, Dr. John Markeson and the many loving people at Country Lane Assisted Living.
