Betty Jane Morris

Betty Morris, 83, passed away peacefully in her home on July 18, 2013. Betty was born January 17, 1930, in Ladysmith, WI and grew up in Black River Falls, WI. She was a former Gurnee, IL and Tucson, AZ resident, and made her final residence in Layton, UT. Before retirement, Betty enjoyed her positions at newspapers in both IL and AZ. Betty was the loving wife of Ray Morris, and they were married in May 1951. Ray preceded her in death in 1998.
Betty loved and was loved by her 3 children & their spouses: Gary Morris, wife Trish, of WI; Gloria Bennett, of AL: and Ginger Downey, husband Ron, of UT. She adored and was adored by her 6 grandchildren: Kimberly Morris, of WI; Patrick and Atrice Bennett, of AL; and Kevin, Kyle and Keith Downey, of UT. She also shared a special bond with her 2 great-grandsons, Maverick and Hunter Downey, of UT.
Betty made many dear friends around the country and will be remembered fondly by them. Betty had a great passion for her family, pets, home and flower gardening.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 6 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton.
