Betty Arlene Terry
July 29, 1928 - August 14, 2016

Arlene Terry, 88, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016, following a period of extended illness.
She loved her husband and family. Nothing made her happier than being around family. She loved it when family members would drop in "just to visit."

Arlene was born July 29, 1928 in Standardville, Utah the daughter of Cyrus and Ila Jensen. She spent her youth in Fairview, Utah and attended North Sanpete High School in Mt. Pleasant. She married her sweetheart, Darwin Terry on November 26, 1947 in the Logan Temple.

Arlene was a faithful and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a secretary in every sense of the word. She cherished organization and record-keeping. She served in her ward as the Sunday School Secretary for over 20 years. She loved the youth and always made sure she knew them and encouraged them to get to their classes on time. She enjoyed genealogy and did extensive work in this area for her deceased relatives. She and Darwin performed weekly janitorial service in their LDS ward well into their 80's. She prized cleanliness. Her house was always spotless.

Arlene chose part-time employment as an "Avon Lady" where she won many awards for high achievement in sales. She loved the people she met. Many became lifelong friends. Income from Avon sales allowed for another of her passions, family vacations. The family took multiple extended vacations, eventually touring all 48 state capitol buildings in the continental USA. The family home evenings, where those vacations were planned, were almost as fun as going. Routes were planned along with what sites would be visited. The children loved looking forward to those vacations.

Arlene served her family and extended family. She was a wonderful mother. She cared for both her own mother and her mother-in-law until they passed away. As Darwin's health declined, she became his caretaker up until the day prior to her own passing. Her relationship with Darwin was special indeed. They were married for 68 years and were inseparable.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Duane and Roger, sister Mayciel, son Kenneth, and grandson Trevor along with many other choice extended family members.

She is survived by her husband Darwin Terry, brother Garth (Marge) Jensen, sons Jerry Terry, Larry (Cheryl) Terry, Ron (Neesha) Terry and many beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank her special LDS ward family and Legacy Hospice for their services. An extra special thanks goes out to her angelic friend and neighbor, Dorene Bateman.
