Beverley Nicholas Nelson

OGDEN/WILLARD - On March 21, 2013 Beverley Nicholas Nelson, 90, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter where she also raised her family.
Beverley was born on November 19, 1922 in Ogden, UT a daughter of John Allen and Priscilla Stratford Nicholas. She has two younger sisters, who she loves dearly. Beverley lived in Willard almost all of her childhood. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1940 and Weber State College in 1942. During High School she asked Boyd Davis Nelson to a dance and they soon became inseparable. Boyd was drafted during WWII and during his leave they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 10, 1943. While Boyd served his country Beverley taught the 1st grade in Garland. Boyd returned home on Christmas Eve 1945 and they began their life together. They adopted three children whom they loved dearly and raised on their family dairy farm in Willard. Boyd passed away June 23, 1985.
Beverley served others in many callings as an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some of these callings were Relief Society President, Beehive House hostess, Joseph Smith Building hostess, and many, many others.
Beverley always enjoyed spending time with the Club Girls, which was started in about 1946. She also spent a lot of time with the Dairy Wives Association, and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers in Willard and Ogden.
Beverley is survived by her two younger sisters: Joyce Cook, Kaysville and Frances (Dee) Andersen, Orem; three children: Randy (Patti) Nelson, AZ; Tracy (Tammy) Nelson, and Teri N. (Garry) Baker both of Willard; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.
Beverley was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd, granddaughters: Christie Nelson and Tyese Baker, grandson Dustyn Baker and her parents and her brother-in-law Sidney Cook.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Willard Peak Chapel, 7615 S. 665 W. in South Willard.
Friends may call Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden and on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church.
Interment in the Willard Cemetery. Services under the direction of Myers in Brigham City.
Beverley's family wishes to thank the staff from Envision Home Health and IHC Hospice for the kind and tender care they provided to our mother.
