Bobbie McQueen had been an active member of the New Zion Baptist Church until she succumbed to her illness . She was an active choir member, and kitchen Supervisor as well as one of the first members to come through the doors of this building when the church moved from 27th street to it's current location.
Bobbie was a graduate of Ogden High School and later attended Stevens Henagar's College. She worked for the Defense Depot Ogden until her medical retirement. She held various part time jobs in our community which always kept her in the know about her community members. She was the person you went to for a good meal and good conversation whether you were in need or not. She was a people person.
Bobbie's hobbies included knitting, crocheting , bowling , canning fresh vegetables and fruits before her health failed. She was so much fun to be around, and always had a house full of family and friends. Listening to music and dancing was always a mainstay in the household. She could bring a smile to any face because her concern for you was truly genuine. She had a great love for her family friends and community. Her favorite things in these latter months were talking with her friends daily, watching the Food Network, all the Judge shows, Nancy Grace News Show and her favorite Soap operas.
Bobbie was a member of the American Legion Post #66 Auxiliary, Life long member of the NAACP a Red Hatter, and a Past Daughter Ruler for the Luther Mae E. Adams Temple #1343.
Bobbie married James Jackson in 1955. To this union six (6) children were born. They later divorced and she found the love of her life Clarence (Mac-a-do) McQueen. They were married in July 1981.
