Boyd L. Opheikens Obituary (1935 - 2015)

Boyd L. Opheikens Dec. 24, 1935 - Feb. 28, 2015 Boyd Opheikens passed away Feb. 28, 2015 to be reunited with the love of his life, Joyce Opheikens. In the beginning of Boyd's career he worked for the railroad, after leaving he worked with his brother, Ned Opheikens, as a barber in the Ogden Keisel Building until they retired. Boyd would still go to friends and family's homes to cut their hair for those that could not come to him after he retired. Boyd was a Past Exalted Ruler at the Elks Lodge, member of the Ogden Eagles, Corkers and birthday club in which he volunteered his time. Boyd and Joyce enjoyed camping at the Eagles campground, traveling with the Elks and DOES. Boyd was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; son, Michael and his parents. He is survived by his son, Doak Opheikens; brother, Ned (Claudia) Opheikens and his and Joyce's adopted family, Curt and Kari Berrett and their children. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery with a light luncheon at the Roy Elks Lodge directly after. Arrangements entrusted to Myers Ogden Mortuary.
