William Brad Sparks
August 12, 1952 - April 2, 2025
Known to all as Brad, 72, (you got a stern correction if you called him William); passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 2.
Brad was born in Preston, ID, but grew up in Brigham City, UT. Where he graduated from Box Elder High School in 1970.
Then after graduation, went off to college at Utah State University. He quickly joined Sigma Chi Fraternity, where he earned his nickname Spinner, and met a lot of good buddies that he held in high regard throughout his life. He graduated in 1976 with a teaching degree in woodworking, shop, and drafting. He was very skilled in auto mechanics and learned that trade from his father. Brad built both of his houses, one in Centerville and one in Layton. He saw every detail in both projects from start to finish. With his best friend, Dave, by his side, they rebuilt an old Jeep and an Alfa Romeo car from the frame up. They also built and fabricated a wood burning stove made of steel, that would heat the house so hot it was almost insufferable to sit in the same room where it stood.
While at college, Brad met and married Susan Lloyd in December 1973. And in the years after, had a good life with her while raising three beautiful daughters, that blessed him with six grandchildren.
Stacy Munoz (Jason) of Oviedo FL. Granddaughters Averi & Olivia.
Lindsi Burnett (Brock) of Plain City.
Kiley Templeman (Mike) of South Jordan. Granddaughters, Andie & Kennedy; Grandsons, Greyson & Davis.
Brad was an outdoors man throughout his life. With a love of camping, horseback riding, hunting, boating and golfing. Brad spent many of his career years working in the steel industry. And in his later years, enjoyed selling Cadillacs for Cutrubus Motors in Ogden, where he made many friends he still has today.
Brad also met his “sweetheart” Cheri King in his later years. They enjoyed many happy years together and could be found out on the golf courses of Odgen City. Cheri passed away exactly one year ago this month. His daughters truly believe Brad’s broken heart could only hold out for so long for his family, until he needed to return to Cheri’s side and enjoy life with her again.
He gave us a year.
Brad is preceded in death by both his parents; Bill & Maxine Sparks, his sweetheart Cheri King, and his son-in-law Mike Templeman.
Brad’s family will meet with family and friends on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 3:00 - 4:30 P.M. at Myer’s Mortuary, 205 S 100 E, Brigham City, Utah with graveside services that will take place after at 5:00 P.M. He will be laid to rest at the Brigham City cemetery, 300 E 300 S, Brigham City, Utah.
