Brad Story Obituary (1962 - 2022)

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, Charles Brad Story, returned to his heavenly home on September 3, 2022 following injuries sustained in an airplane accident in Wasilla, Alaska. He was born on April 8, 1962 in Ogden, UT, the son of William Charlie "Chuck" and Dixie Robins Story. Brad enjoyed a wonderful life being raised in Eden, Utah, where he learned to love nature and the outdoors. He graduated from Weber High School where he lettered in wrestling. After graduation, Brad served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ in Bogota, Columbia. He was also beloved by many generations of primary children, he lovingly and playfully served as a primary teacher multiple times in his life. He continued this passion with his wife, Debra, in the years before moving to Alaska. He married the love of his life, Debra Jane Dalton Story on June 27, 1984 in the South Jordan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They shared a wonderfully adventurous life riding on fast machines, only slowing to enjoy their family and grandchildren. Brad was an accomplished skydiver, snowmobiler and machinist, as well as a private pilot. He never met a machine he could not grow to understand and improve. He spent the last of his days building an experimental airplane which he handcrafted with care. It was his dream to fly with the birds in the sky. Brad made friends everywhere he went and is beloved and missed by many people in many places. His contagious spirit and insatiable desire to learn and improve led him to many adrenaline filled adventures that most people only dream about. From jumping out of planes for a living to driving snowmobiles off of cliffs. From marrying the love of his life to spending his days playing with his grandchildren. He did everything to his best ability, leaving no room for error. As a "jack of all trades" and a graduate from the "school of hard knocks". Brad was able to teach his children the basic knowledge of mechanics and machinery. His oldest child, Elias, became an engineer and followed in his fathers passion for building and understanding the finer aspects of machines. His middle child Natalie pursues a deeper knowledge of the human body, which Brad understood well. His body was the epitome of health and allowed him to enjoy and pursue his talents. His youngest child, Alia, pursues Education and the desire to teach and learn from others. Brad always sought to share his wealth of knowledge and absorb the teachings of others. He is survived by his wife Debra, a son and two daughters. Elias (Kristy) Story, Natalie (Jason) Nestoryak, Alia (Patrick) Lawson. 7 grandchildren, Cambria, Axel, Charli Marie, Charlie Jain, Eliza, Tayo, and Tozlyn. His mother, Dixie Robins Story. Two sisters, Amber Lynn Will, Ellie (Kent) Rich. One brother, Robin Story, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Charlie "Chuck" Story and a grandson, Charles Elias. A celebration of Brad's life will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Story Family home, 3192 N. Hwy 162 in Eden, Utah. The interment will be held at Eden Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT.
