Brant Merrill Seamons Obituary (1935 - 2019)

Brant Merrill Seamons: Brant Merrill Seamons was born in April of 1935, son to Eldon Monroe and Lois Merrill Seamons. Brant passed away peacefully on February 14, 2019, due to leukemia. He was lovingly surrounded by family in his home in St. George, Utah. Brant was born in Logan, Utah and raised in Chinook, Montana, on a dairy farm where he learned the value of hard work and determination. He later went on to graduate from the University of Indiana earning a Master Degree in Physical Education. Brant married his eternal companion Elizabeth McKay on August 7, 1959 where they were sealed for time and eternity in the Logan, Utah, Temple. Throughout their 60 years of marriage they had many adventures together while raising their 7 children. Brant moved his family to Mesa, AZ in 1972 after graduating from college. He worked, or more accurately "played," for 27 years for the City of Mesa in the Park and Recreation Division. During this time he held the record of only taking 3 sick days throughout his entire career. He was the Supervisor over Youth Sports, and Aquatics, the Mesa Public Schools liaison, and Chief Instructor for Arizona Game and Fish Hunter Education program. He was an active member of the United States National Guard for 5 years, and an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving a 2 A 1/2 year mission to Samoa. He retained the ability to speak the Samoan language throughout his life. He held many church positions including counselor to two different Bishops. Brant had a love for training horses and their owners. He found this to be a time to relax and enjoy the beauty of the moment, as the horses learned new things. Brant is survived by his wife Elizabeth McKay Seamons, and their 7 children: Sharanette (Joe) Farnsworth, Mesa, AZ, Dezlee (Clark) Hancock, St. George, UT, Matthew Seamons, Mesa, AZ, Heather (Rob) Quist, Tokyo, Japan, Andrew Seamons, Chandler, AZ, Betsy Seamons, Huntsville, UT, Jonathan Seamons, Mesa, AZ, 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and his beautiful Arabian horse "Delight." Funeral services will be held Saturday February 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Huntsville Utah church house 277 S. 7400 E. Friends may visit with the family on Friday February 22, 2019 at Myers Mortuary 845 N. Washington Boulevard, Ogden, Utah between 6:30 pm-8:30 pm and also Saturday from 10:00-10:45 am at the church house in Huntsville. Interment, Huntsville Cemetery.
