Bruce L. Baird

Bruce Lloyd Baird 92, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Carrington Court Assisted Living in South Jordan, Utah.
Bruce was born on June 25, 1920 in Ioka, Utah a son of Walter and Amelia Tree Baird.
He was raised in Ogden, Utah, and spent his adult life in Brigham City, also living in Garland and Eagle Mountain, Utah.
Bruce served his Country in the U.S. Army in World War II.
He attended Utah State with an emphasis in Statistics and North Carolina State receiving his Doctorate Degree in Agronomy.
Bruce married Ruth Stromberg on February 9, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple. She passed away on August 25, 1997.
He worked for Thiokol on the Space Shuttle project for over 25 years.
Bruce was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as counselor in a Mission Presidency, in the High Council, a Mission to Independence Missouri with his wife, and various other stake and ward positions.
He enjoyed doing family history, inventing science projects for children, gardening, and making useful items from non-useful items.
Surviving are his children: Lloyd S (Jana) Baird, Belmont , Massachusetts ; Rae Baird (Larry) Keck, S. Weber; Bonnie Baird (Perry) Widdison, S. Jordan; Nancy Baird (Lynn) Purcell, Tremonton; Karen Baird (Scott) Finch, Eagle Mountain; 29 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and sister Avalon Allen, S. Ogden .
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City.
Friends and family may call on Saturday from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m. at the Mortuary.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
