Carlene Wray Wakley Patterson Carlene Wray Wakley Patterson, Our Precious Mother, Sister, Grandmother and "Grandma Great" passed away at home on Sunday, July 27, 2014, under the care of her close family. Carlene was born on July 3, 1931 in Malad, Idaho to Fred L. and Edna Wakley. She graduated from Ogden High and that is where she met her high school sweetheart James T. Patterson. They were married on August 25, 1949 in Elko, Nevada and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. James passed away September 17, 2005, together they raised six children. Carlene was the sweetest person who would do anything for anyone. She had three lifelong friends Loraine Garcia, Berneil Billings and Mildred Butler, who loved her. She worked for Davis County School lunch and Meadow Gold. Carlene was very talented with interior decorating, cooking and growing the most beautiful exquisite roses that were admired by many. Most of all, Carlene was our most beautiful treasured "ROSE." We are very saddened by the thorns of her leaving us. Although she was of tiny stature, her Love will leave a giant swelling in our hearts. Carlene, thank you for all the love that you gave us and all that you did for us; we love you and will miss you. Thanks to Dr. Darren Checketts, Rite-Aid in Roy, and Hospice of Utah. She is survived by her four children: Mark (Sheri) Patterson, Ned (Linda) Patterson, Becky (Steve) Kennedy and Teresa (Paul) Villarruel, her brother Leo (Marilu) Walc, 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild to be and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband James, her sons Dann and Randy, her father and mother, two brothers and a special daughter-in-law Debbie Patterson. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
