Carlos C. ''Cork'' Critchlow Obituary (1921 - 2003)

Carlos C. (Cork) Critchlow OGDEN - Carlos C. (Cork) Critchlow, 81, died Thursday, January 2, 2003 at the McKay-Dee Hospital. He was born March 6, 1921 in Ogden, a son of Carlos C. and Iris Bingham Critchlow. He married his High School sweetheart, Margaret Dewey on March 12, 1943. He lived most of his life in Ogden, except for six years in the late '50's in Whittier, CA. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1939 and Weber State University in 1941, where he was very active in sports- basketball, football, baseball, golf and tennis. He had been employed by various companies such as American Can Co., Marquardt Corp., Thiokol and retiring from Continental Baking Co. in 1984. He was an avid golfer for 65 years, and an active sports booster for Weber State University. He served in the US Navy serving in the So. Pacific as a torpedo man during WWII, and received advanced schooling at Great Lake And San Diego Naval Training Stations. He was a member of the LDS Church and he was a former member of Ogden Elks 719 and Ogden Eagles (FOE). He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger. He is survived by his wife Margaret, one son, Scott; two grandchildren, Brady (Jennifer) Critchlow and Cydnee (Ryan) Jones; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Chloe.
