Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, Carolyn Lanzarotta, slipped gently into God's arms on Nov. 16, 2015. She was welcomed into this world by her parents, Thomas Paul and Margaret (Embree) Chavis. She adored her dad and was her mother's best friend. During WWII her parents were busy with their defense jobs, her grandmother, Bessie Embree helped care for the family.

She married Rillon Champneys Jr. in June of 1954; they later divorced. Carolyn married the love of her life, Lee Lanzarotta on July 12, 1979; he died in 2002.

She was very creative and loved to decorate. She worked as a floral designer and at Macy's in San Francisco. She loved to travel. She was very ambitious and enthusiastic. She was very proud of her family and loved her dogs. She was a great patriot and loved her country. She served as President of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary on seven occasions.

Carolyn is survived by her sister, DeLacy Ripplinger; her children, Gary L. Thomas, Curtis W. (KT) Champneys, Carla K. Finn, Cheryl C. (Frank) Casebolt, Greg P. (Vickie) Champneys, Kent D. (Ijal) Champneys; 20 grandchildren; many great and great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Donna and two grandchildren, Michael Casebolt and Nikki Malan.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Friends may call on Friday, Nov. 20th from 6 to 8 PM and Saturday from 12:40 to 1:40 PM. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
