On the 22nd of February, 1960, Heaven gifted Cathleen Ann, a special little angel to Mary Ann Figueroa in San Francisco, California. Cathy, her little brother Rick, completed the union of Mary Ann and Lynn Glen Parker's happy family, growing up in sunny Monterey Park, California.
Cathy Parker, was active in a variety of school activities from drill team to annual editing, graduating from Mark Keppel High School in Alhambra, California. In later years, she went on to attend Cal State Los Angeles and Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah.
In 1978 Mark Clarke Olsen, was blessed to find his precious loving companion, their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles California Temple, in 1980. In the coming years, sons, Bruce, Samuel, Chase; daughters, Jenelle and Elise were born into the growing family. In the late, 80s they moved to Mesa, Arizona, where Cathy began working with Mesa Public Schools, tutoring students as an aide, she continued this work, as she supported her husband's career moves, working for Provo School District, City of Roseville Adventure Club and Davis School District collectively working for over 20 years supporting student advancement in the public school system.
Her passion for imaginative sewing, crafting, baking, resulted in many creative works, using her talents to provide joy, happy moments and unique gifts for all those she loved. Always, and forever looking for the next Cathy creation that would allow her to show her love to those around her.
Cathy is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, continuously serving in both leadership, and sustaining roles, in Young Womens, Relief Society, Primary, Sunday School, lovingly and passionately serving with each opportunity.
On October 7, 2024, after several months fighting Cancer, our precious wife, mother and grandmother, returned to the Great God that sent her to us. I am certain our little angel will again find the opportunity to serve with passion once more, free to the constraints of this mortal body. Cathy, was proceeded in death by her mother, father and son, Samuel.
We were privileged to be part of her amazing life, may her children, grandchildren carry on with her legacy of love.
