Ceasar Swain, Jr Obituary (1917 - 2002)

OGDENa"Our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa, great grandpa, Ceasar Swain Jr., passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2002. He now joins his many family and friends in heaven. Ceasar was born to Ceasar and Emma "Noisy" Dates Swain in Lanier, Alabama. He married Mary E. Greene in Elko, Nevada and had five daughters and two sons. Ceasar was a veteran of WWII and served with the United States Air Force. He was a hard worker and always gave his best at everything he did. He worked at Defense Depot Ogden and Hill AFB. He retied in 1985 after 43 years of government service. Ceasar enjoyed gardening, playing his guitar, playing the piano, singing the blues, writing poetry, taking care of his animals and watching sports on television. In his younger days he was a great softball player and achieved many awards and trophies. He was also a great storyteller and loved to talk about all of the great times that he experienced throughout his life. He was a member of Embry Chapel AME Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughters and sons, Toni S. Wilson, Detroit, Michigan; Ceasar Swain III, Ogden, Utah; Rachel (Larry) Dawson, Roy, Utah; James Swain, Clearfield, Utah; Emma (Roland) Swain Brown, South Ogden, Utah; Evelyn Swain, Ogden, Utah; Venus (Terry) Northrop, Salt Lake City, Utah; Tonya (Frank) Buenger, Phoenix, Arizona. Also surviving are five sisters and two brothers, Goldest E. Garrett, Talladega, Alabama, Christine Johnson, Bronx, New York, Katherine C. Lee, Newark, New Jersey, Elizabeth Ruth Coleman, Talladega, Alabama, Georgia L. (Richard) Eaton, Talladega, Alabama, James H. (Mary) Swain, Talladega, Alabama, Willie Hargnick, Talladega, Alabama. Twenty-three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, mother-in-law, Lillie M. Greene, Oakland, California; sister-in-law, Ruthie Burgie, Oakland, California; a brother-in-law, Obrie E. Anderson, Ogden, Utah; and a host of nieces and nephews, and friends. His parents, three sisters, three brothers, and a granddaughter preceded him in death.
