Cecil Charles Bullard Obituary (1934 - 2008)

Cecil Charles Bullard Cecil Charles Bullard gave up his earthly body on Monday Jan. 28th 2008 at 10:10 a.m. and was reunited with his Earthly Father (Olen Bullard), Mother (Ozella), Brother (Warren) and Sister (Billie) who had preceded him. He is now in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father, Mother and Elder Brother and at peace. Cecil was born on Sept. 8th 1934 in Oklahoma during the Great Depression. Finding no work in Oklahoma his family moved to the Palm Springs California area when he was a boy. Cecil began his career working as a Lube Tech for Palm Springs Lincoln Mercury at the age of 12 and started his own Automotive Repair Business in Palm Springs in 1961, where he successfully served the community for more than 44 years. He served his country in the army and found the love of his life (Cleora Kay Mead) at the age of 21. His greatest love was his family but a close second was racing and fixing cars. He had a successful career as a NASCAR driver finishing in 1st place for the season more than once. He had a fascination for the Automobile and the uncanny ability to listen to a vehicle and know what was wrong. He was a renaissance man and could fix any thing that he put his mind to. In his later years he enjoyed woodworking, playing pool and working in his yard. He retired in November of 2005 and moved to Ogden Utah to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He loved working with his grandson on a 66 Mustang that he was restoring, telling stories about his life and the time he had with his family. He joined the LDS Church in his early 60's and enjoyed serving in the temple. His greatest wish was to have his loving family close to him and close to each other. He leaves a wife, Cleora Kay Bullard, two daughters, Cleora Lourette (Scott) Boman, Lisa Ann (Joe) Sparto, one son Cecil J (Kerri) Bullard, eight grandchildren, Terri, Steven, Cecil, Lindsay, Shanna, Tiffany, Kent, and Morgon and one great-grandchild. He also leaves a sister, Marlys Dunson and brother Olen James Bullard. It is impossible to list all the things that he was. He was an honest and hardworking man who was a great example for his family. He was a fighter that always stood up for what he believed was right and for his family. He was a trickster, a joker and a storyteller. He was a great son, husband, father and brother. He was everything to those that knew him and love him. He was our rock and the patriarch of our family and will be sorely missed. WE LOVE YOU DAD and cannot wait to see you again. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Country Hills Ward, 1401 Country Hills Drive.
