Chad Bryce Christensen

Chad B. Christensen passed from this life on February 28, 2020, with loved ones nearby. Chad was born in Salina, Utah to Brice J. Christensen and Maurine Anderson Christensen. Chad had a very happy childhood in the Gunnison Valley. He married Janice Chugg Christensen and they raised six children. Everything he did, he did for Janice and their children., The role he was most proud of was being a husband, father and grandfather.
Chad loved people. It didn't matter if it was someone new in the Ward, a co-worker or the cashier at the grocery store, he always had a smile and a few words for everyone he came in contact with. He had the ability to teach, not by telling you what to do but by asking questions that would lead you to learn for yourself. Chad never met a stranger.
Chad was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served a mission in the Cook Islands where he made long-standing friendships. He was an example of Christ in everything he did. He loved each and every one of his callings throughout his life. It didn't matter if he was teaching Sunday School or Seminary or if he was serving in his roles of Bishop or in the Stake Presidency, he treated everyone the same. He was one of the most non-judgmental people around.
Early in his childhood Chad became a fan of baseball. He played baseball and in Little League and in high school. His love for baseball never dimmed. He coached Little League for many years. He also umpired and taught new umpires up until the last couple of years when his health was failing. He was so proud of his children's accomplishments. In the last few years Chad had the opportunity to umpire Little League tournaments in the US and foreign countries. Janice serves on the International Board for Little League and he was extremely proud of her accomplishments. He so enjoyed going to the Little League World Series every year.
Chad and Janice are the parents of six children - Brandon (Nicole) Christesen, Justin (Lauretta) Christensen, Heather (Brent) Irving, Hayley (Kevin) Doyle, Ashley (Nick) Moran and Aaron Christensen. Chad and Janice have 12 grandchildren. Chad has two siblings, Arell (Sue) Christensen and Karla Rae (Dan) Cashen. Chad was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Craig and a granddaughter.
Chad's funeral will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020, 11:00 am at the Plain City Ward located at 2335 N 4350 W, Plain City, UT.
