Charles Guy Atkinson, affectionately known as 'Guypaw', suddenly left this life surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at McKay Dee Hospital.

He was born May 23, 1951 to Jay Atkinson and Charlene Pitts in Salt Lake City, Utah and was the oldest of 17 children, eleven brothers and five sisters. Charlie worked for Ogden City in sanitation for over 30 years, and loved the people he worked with. He met and married Tamra Chugg on October 7, 1988. Tamra had three children when she married Charles and he was just as much a Father to them as the son they had together. Guypaw enjoyed western movies, especially John Wayne, CSI, the game show network and reading the daily paper. He loved weekly breakfast with his family at Pete's Cafe and Stagecoach.

Family was the most important thing to him. He was the best dad and step dad anyone could ever ask for. Dad had a big heart. He would do anything for anybody, and will forever be an example of kindness and selflessness.

He is survived by his wife Tamra, children Rachel (Ben) Xavier, James (Patty) McCrone, Jenny (Riley) McCrone, and Jay (Aleisa) Atkinson, siblings, mother, and 10 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Jay Atkinson.

His funeral services will be held at the LDS church house 550 East 900 North Ogden UT 84404 on Friday December 1, 2017 at noon with an hour long viewing prior to the services starting at 11 am. There will also be a viewing held at Myers Mortuary in Ogden from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday Nov 30. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at McKay Dee Hospital for making his last moments as comfortable as possible. Charles will be laid to rest at the Evergreen Memorial Park.
