Charles "Izzy" Thomas Sullivan Jr Obituary (1932 - 2016)

Charles (Izzy) Thomas Sullivan Jr. January 10, 1932 - January 5, 2016 Charles T. Sullivan Jr., 83, of Clinton, returned to the Lord he loved so much on January 5, 2016. He is free from all the illnesses that once made him paralyzed, stuck in his wheelchair, and his bed. He was born in Casper, WY, on January 10, 1932, eight minutes before his twin, John Edward Sullivan. He was the third of five children, born to Charles Thomas and Marie Elizabeth Gerber Sullivan. He was a happy child, who loved the Lord faithfully. He was joyful and loved helping others. He was raised with his four siblings, Rita, Alice, John, and George. They were taught to love their Heavenly Father, and to work to be fair. He went to St. Anthony's Parochial school and Natrona County High School, graduating in 1950. He wanted to live a Monastic life in Huntsville, Utah, moving there right after graduating. He fit naturally into the life of a religious man, loving the farm life, and helping his confreres and neighbors, with all types of work situations. He would always spring into action whenever hay equipment or milking machinery would break down. Holy Trinity Abbey was his home for 25 years. One day when a young women came to the monastery to find a home for her cat, she caught his eye. He left the monastery and married Karen Hancey (Sheffield) on June 13, 1975, 41 years ago. He has handled being a husband and father like no other. Their two families joined through love. They share three children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Gary (Theresa) Sheffield, Blake (Mindy) Sheffield, Paige (Lyle) Morse; grandchildren, Mathew Jachim, Brittany White, Taylor Morse, Cade Sheffield, Mackenzie Morse, Carter Sheffield; sister, Rita Murphy-Galles, and sister-in-law, Marlene Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents, great-granddaughters, Aspen Renae and Charlie Ann Morse; brothers, John E. (Virginia) Sullivan, George Sullivan; sister, Alice (Albert) Swinson; and brother-in-law, Don Galles. The family would like to give a special thanks to Washington Terrace Care Center, Country Pines and Orchard Cove for all their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help with funeral expenses at any America First CU in Charles' name. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church 4050 S. 3900 W., West Haven, UT 84401. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2016, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah.
