Charlotte Leathers Obituary (1931 - 2025)

Charlotte Leathers passed away March 8, 2025 in Brigham City, UT at the age of 93. She was born July 28, 1931 in Chicago IL to Kurt and Augusta (Reese) Huckel. Charlotte was a 1949 graduate of Paris High School. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in nursing. On Feb 22, 1959 she married Jack Leathers at the First United Methodist Church in Paris IL where they were members for many years. To this marriage, Jack brought two children Gregory & Cynthia Leathers. Jack and Charlotte had two daughters. Kathryn was born in July of 1962 and Gretchen in April of 1964. Charlotte was mainly a stay-at-home mom who provided a warm and caring home. She worked part time at the nursing home in Paris. When Jack retired in July of 1988, they moved to Temecula CA where they made great friends and were involved in and members of the First United Methodist Church. She was a PEO member in the Temecula and Ogden chapters. They spent 25 years in California, until Jack’s health required them to move to Ogden UT to be closer to family. Charlotte is preceded in death by her father Kurt Huckel, mother Augusta Bosstick, infant sister Louise, husband Jack Leathers and son-in-law David Alexander. She is survived by her daughters Kathryn Leathers (Dennis Whitmore), Billings MT; Gretchen Leathers Alexander, Collinston, UT; stepson Gregory Leathers, Santa Cruz, CA; step daughter Cynthia Leathers, Eugene OR; grandson Adam Alexander and his wife Kelcey and her great granddaughter Hallie Alexander, Collinston, UT. She has been cremated and no services are planned. Her ashes will be interned at the Edgar County Cemetery along with her husband Jack’s. Charlotte will be missed by all who knew her.
